Girl sitting in desert with title About Nothing

Today’s society encourages you to think about nothing. Your social feed tells you to clear your mind, purge your stuff, and make simplicity a way of life.

Minimalism is all the buzz in the world of design. Top designers leave as much empty space as possible in their webpages. Meaningful photos circulate with a person sitting in the mountains or by a stream — by herself! We spend our time in the nothingness of wi-fi signals, cell phone data, and streaming movies.

The Bible promises a world of substance. In the beginning, God created the sea, the sky, the earth, humans, animals, and everything around us. He sent his own son to be born into this world to walk its roads and to live in a place just east of the Mediterranean Sea. That son Jesus died on a very real cross and rose again. After his resurrection he was so much a part of the physical world a disciple examined the wounds suffered in death. Jesus ascended into a very real heaven as thousands watched from earth.

Since then, his Word has gone into all the earth and changed the lives of very real people. In a world that encourages nothing, you may taste and see that God is very real. He can bring real hope where the world offers you: nothing.
